1. Acceptance of Terms

By using the Bloom Platform or App, you agree to these Terms and to any additional terms, rules, disclosures, or policies that are clearly presented to you for specific features or programs.

  • Material changes: We may provide advance notice of material changes by email, in-app notice, or by posting updated Terms on the Platform.
  • Non-material changes: We may make non-material changes without advance notice, including corrections, formatting updates, and clarifications.
  • Urgent legal or safety changes: We may make immediate or near-immediate changes where reasonably necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, platform integrity, or user or animal safety.

To the extent permitted by law, your continued use of the Platform after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of those Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Platform.

2. Service Description

Bloom provides a digital platform that may include:

  • User profile creation and account management
  • Verification workflows
  • Messaging and communication tools
  • Map, search, and discovery features
  • Safety reporting and account moderation tools
  • Optional location-sharing, check-in, arrangement, scheduling, or related coordination features where enabled

Bloom acts only as a technology platform and facilitator of introductions and communication. Bloom does not provide pet care, dog walking, boarding, sitting, transportation, training, veterinary services, supervision services, employment services, insurance, or claims-handling services.

Bloom is not a party to arrangements made between users. Any interaction, arrangement, meetup, handoff, pet-care activity, or other private understanding is solely between the users involved.

We do not endorse, guarantee, certify, supervise, control, or warrant any user, pet, profile, representation, badge, verification result, conduct, safety outcome, suitability, legality, or result, even if verification, moderation, badges, filters, map displays, support channels, or safety tools are available through the Platform.

Nothing in these Terms creates an employment relationship, agency, franchise, partnership, fiduciary relationship, joint venture, insurance arrangement, or assumption of a duty of care by Bloom toward any user, pet, or third party.

3. Eligibility

To use the Platform, you must meet all applicable eligibility requirements. By accessing or using the Platform, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are at least 19 years old
  • You are legally capable of entering into a binding contract
  • You are located in Canada (or such other locations as Bloom expressly permits)
  • You will comply with all applicable federal, provincial, territorial, and municipal laws, including animal welfare laws, by-laws, transportation rules, consumer protection rules, and privacy laws
  • You will not use the Platform for unlawful, abusive, fraudulent, deceptive, or unauthorized commercial purposes

4. Identity Verification

Bloom may require identity verification before allowing access to certain features or account states. Verification requirements may vary by feature, risk level, safety requirements, or product configuration.

Verification may include:

  • Government-issued identification
  • Selfie or liveness checks
  • Verification through third-party service providers

Where third-party verification providers are used, Bloom may receive verification results, status information, risk signals, or related metadata. Verification does not constitute a guarantee of identity, background, criminal history, character, trustworthiness, legality, safety, skill, suitability, or future conduct.

Verification-related data handling is further described in our Privacy Policy .

Optional Criminal Record Checks

If Bloom later offers facilitation of criminal record checks or related screening, any such service will be subject to separate disclosures, consent requirements, and eligibility rules. Unless expressly stated otherwise, criminal record checks are not provided by Bloom and do not create any representation or guarantee by Bloom about a user's safety, suitability, or future conduct.

4.1 Address Verification

Where enabled, Bloom may require address verification to support fraud prevention, user trust, safety review, account integrity, or platform security.

Bloom may accept or reject submitted documents, request additional information, require re-submission, or require renewed verification. Failure to complete required verification may limit feature access, delay activation, restrict account functionality, or result in account suspension.

Any address-verification review timeline stated on the Platform is an estimate only and is not guaranteed.

5. Account Registration

To use Bloom, you must create an account and:

  • Provide information that is accurate, current, and complete
  • Keep your information updated
  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of your login credentials
  • Not share your account or allow another person to use it
  • Notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized access or misuse

You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account unless caused by our own unauthorized acts or omissions or as otherwise required by law.

You may not create multiple accounts to bypass restrictions, moderation action, subscription requirements, verification requirements, feature limits, or other Platform controls.

6. Subscription & Payment Terms

Bloom offers paid memberships in CAD for access to certain Platform features. All membership prices shown on Bloom include applicable taxes.

Current membership prices

  • Borrower membership
    • Monthly: $10.00 CAD per month
    • Annual: $84.00 CAD per year
  • Pet owner membership
    • Monthly: $20.00 CAD per month
    • Annual: $168.00 CAD per year

Annual billing reflects a 30% discount compared to twelve months at the monthly rate. Checkout may show tax breakdown depending on your location and Stripe settings.

Taxes and Charges

Membership prices on Bloom are quoted tax-inclusive. Other fees, if any, will be disclosed at checkout.

Auto-Renewal

If you purchase a recurring subscription, it will renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel before renewal. You authorize Bloom or its payment processor to charge the applicable recurring fee, taxes, and other disclosed charges using your selected payment method.

Cancellation

You may cancel a recurring subscription through your account settings, where that option is available, or by contacting support@bloompetshare.ca . Unless stated otherwise at the point of purchase or required by law, cancellation stops future renewals and does not retroactively reverse charges already incurred.

Booking Terms Acceptance

Certain booking-related flows may require you to accept the current Bloom Booking Terms before you can continue. Where that applies, Bloom may record the legal document version and acceptance timestamp tied to the relevant booking or account action.

Refunds

Except where required by law or where Bloom expressly offers a refund at the point of sale, fees are generally non-refundable once charged.

If Bloom advertises a promotional refund window

Where Bloom specifically advertises a refund or cooling-off offer for a subscription or promotion, that offer applies only according to the terms disclosed at checkout or on the relevant offer page. Bloom may deny refund requests where there has been material use of paid subscriber features, including sending messages, unlocking subscriber-only communication tools, accessing paid matching functionality, or otherwise using the paid functionality that triggered the charge.

Free Trials

If Bloom offers a free trial, the applicable terms, duration, conversion date, and billing details will be disclosed when you sign up. Unless cancelled before the end of the trial, the paid subscription may begin automatically.

Payment Processing

Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers such as Stripe. Bloom does not store full payment card numbers.

7. App Store and Payment Provider Terms

If you purchase a subscription or digital feature through a third-party app store or marketplace, including Apple App Store or Google Play, your purchase may also be subject to that store's terms, billing rules, renewal rules, refund rules, and cancellation processes.

Where a third-party app store processes your purchase, Bloom is not responsible for that store's billing operations, payment failures, refund handling, or account-level purchase tools. You may need to manage your subscription directly through the relevant app store account.

Bloom may also use third-party payment processors, including Stripe, to process payments. Payment processing services are subject to the applicable processor's own terms and privacy practices in addition to these Terms.

8. Consumer Rights and BC Compliance

Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive, limit, or exclude any rights that cannot be waived under applicable consumer protection law.

Depending on the nature of the contract, applicable law may provide cancellation, refund, disclosure, or other statutory rights that apply regardless of what these Terms say. If these Terms conflict with mandatory consumer rights, the mandatory law prevails to the extent of the conflict.

In British Columbia, the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act (BPCPA) includes rules that can affect subscription contracts, including expectations for clear disclosure before you agree. Bloom aims to show recurring pricing, taxes, billing cycles, and auto-renewal clearly at checkout and in these Terms (including that your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date where applicable).

For general consumer information, contact the consumer protection authority in your province/territory, (e.g., Consumer Protection BC ).

9. User Responsibilities

All users must treat animals with care, respect, and caution, and must comply with all applicable laws and by-laws.

British Columbia's Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and related standards may apply to how pets are treated. Serious welfare concerns may be reported to the BC SPCA and other appropriate authorities.

Pet Owners

  • Accurately describe your pet's temperament, behaviour, and needs
  • Disclose known health, safety, behavioural, aggression, escape, and bite-risk issues
  • Provide clear care instructions and relevant emergency contact details
  • Remain responsible for veterinary costs unless otherwise agreed directly between users
  • Comply with licensing, vaccination, microchip, leash, transport, housing, and by-law requirements
  • Make your own decisions about whether another user is suitable for your pet

Borrowers

  • Follow the Pet Owner's lawful instructions
  • Act responsibly and supervise the pet appropriately
  • Report incidents, injuries, escapes, concerns, or property damage promptly
  • Comply with applicable transport, leash, waste, park, housing, and municipal rules
  • Do not leave a pet unsupervised, re-home a pet, breed a pet, or transfer a pet to others without explicit permission
  • Do not seek veterinary treatment except in emergencies or as authorized by the Pet Owner

Independent Judgment and Assumption of Risk

Each user is solely responsible for exercising independent judgment before and during any interaction or arrangement. This includes deciding whether another user is trustworthy, whether a pet is suitable for the arrangement, whether a meet and greet is appropriate, whether a home or environment is suitable, whether a handoff is safe, and whether any applicable laws, by-laws, landlord rules, transportation rules, or insurance requirements are satisfied.

Users assume the risks inherent in interacting with pets and other people. Bloom does not assume, reduce, or transfer those risks merely because the Platform offers messaging, map tools, verification, badges, support channels, safety features, or the Bloom Community Guarantee.

10. Acceptable Use

You must use the Platform lawfully, respectfully, and only for its intended personal use. You must not use the Platform in any way that harms Bloom, other users, pets, or third parties.

Without limiting the above, you agree not to:

  • post, upload, transmit, or share false, misleading, defamatory, harassing, hateful, obscene, violent, or unlawful content;
  • impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity, affiliation, qualifications, experience, location, or relationship to a pet;
  • provide false information during account creation, verification, support, reimbursement review, or safety investigations;
  • use the Platform for unauthorized commercial pet care, paid dog-walking, paid boarding, paid sitting, lead generation, or any other unauthorized business purpose;
  • request, offer, solicit, or accept off-platform payment or compensation through arrangements made on the Platform where Bloom prohibits that conduct;
  • upload malware, malicious code, spyware, bots, scripts, or other harmful technology;
  • scrape, crawl, harvest, copy, index, frame, mirror, or systematically extract Platform data, profiles, content, or communications without Bloom's written permission;
  • attempt to bypass account restrictions, verification rules, subscription requirements, access controls, payment systems, or technical protections;
  • interfere with the security, stability, operation, or integrity of the Platform;
  • infringe another person's intellectual property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other legal rights;
  • share another person's personal information without lawful authority or consent;
  • use the Platform in a way that violates applicable animal welfare, transportation, housing, consumer protection, privacy, or criminal laws.

Bloom may investigate suspected violations of this section and may remove content, restrict access, suspend accounts, or terminate accounts where reasonably necessary to protect the Platform, users, pets, or the public.

11. User Content Licence

You retain ownership of content you submit, upload, post, or transmit through the Platform, including profile text, photos, messages, pet information, reviews, and support materials ("User Content").

By submitting User Content to the Platform, you grant Bloom a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, revocable, sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, format, display, transmit, and otherwise use that User Content as reasonably necessary to:

  • operate, maintain, and improve the Platform;
  • provide features and services you request;
  • moderate content, investigate reports, and enforce these Terms;
  • protect users, pets, Bloom, and the Platform;
  • comply with legal obligations.

You represent and warrant that you have the necessary rights, permissions, and authority to submit the User Content and to grant this licence.

Bloom will not use your User Content in public advertising or external promotional materials without your consent, except where the content is already publicly posted by you through public Platform features and such use is reasonably incidental to operating those features.

12. Platform Role, Disclaimers & Limits

Bloom is a platform provider. Users interact, communicate, and make decisions at their own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Bloom is not responsible for losses, injuries, claims, damages, liabilities, or disputes arising from or relating to user conduct, user representations, pet behaviour, private arrangements, off-platform interactions, or the acts or omissions of third parties.

  • Pet injury, illness, disappearance, death, or distress
  • Property damage caused by a pet or a user
  • Personal injury to users, visitors, household members, assistants, or third parties
  • Disputes, fraud, misrepresentation, or misconduct between users
  • Transport incidents, escape incidents, or off-platform activity
  • Animal welfare breaches, by-law breaches, housing-rule breaches, or legal non-compliance by users
  • Service interruptions, outages, bugs, delays, loss of data, security incidents, or feature unavailability

Bloom does not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or suitable for any particular purpose. The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, except as otherwise required by law.

Users may not rely on verification status, badges, support communications, moderation actions, filters, map placement, profile completeness, "trusted" or "verified" labels, safety features, or the existence of the Bloom Community Guarantee as evidence of identity, background, legality, safety, trustworthiness, suitability, pet-handling ability, or future conduct.

The availability of verification, support, moderation, community standards, reporting tools, emergency tools, or guarantee information does not create a duty of care, supervisory obligation, screening obligation, or representation by Bloom that any user, pet, or arrangement is safe, lawful, appropriate, or suitable.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, fraud, or violations of non-waivable consumer rights, to the extent such exclusion is prohibited by law.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Bloom's total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Platform or these Terms shall not exceed the greater of:

  • the total amount you paid directly to Bloom in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim; or
  • $125 CAD

13. Indemnity

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Bloom Pet Ltd., its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, demands, losses, damages, liabilities, judgments, settlements, penalties, fines, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or relating to:

  • Your use of the Platform
  • Your interactions or arrangements with other users
  • Your pet, if you are a Pet Owner
  • Your breach of these Terms or any applicable law
  • Your violation of another person's rights
  • Your negligent, reckless, fraudulent, or intentional misconduct
  • Claims involving pet injury, death, loss, escape, or alleged mistreatment connected to your conduct
  • Claims involving third-party injury, property damage, privacy complaints, or regulatory complaints caused by your conduct
  • Off-platform arrangements, side deals, or unauthorized activity originating through the Platform

14. Bloom Community Guarantee

Bloom may, in its discretion, offer a limited goodwill program called the Bloom Community Guarantee for certain users, incidents, or arrangements that meet criteria set by Bloom from time to time.

Important legal notice

The Bloom Community Guarantee is a voluntary, discretionary program offered by Bloom Pet Ltd. It is not insurance, does not create an insurer-insured relationship, and does not create any legal entitlement, contractual right, expectation of reimbursement, or admission that Bloom has any duty to compensate any person.

Bloom has no obligation to provide reimbursement, payment, assistance, or any other benefit under the Bloom Community Guarantee.

Any decision to review a request, request documents, communicate with a user, offer goodwill reimbursement, decline a request, or determine any amount is made by Bloom in its sole and absolute discretion.

The existence, marketing, or availability of the Bloom Community Guarantee must not be relied upon as a substitute for personal insurance, independent judgment, risk assessment, user screening, or legal rights against other users.

Any reimbursement, review, communication, support action, or goodwill gesture by Bloom does not constitute an admission of liability, fault, negligence, control, supervision, legal responsibility, or wrongdoing by Bloom Pet Ltd.

The Bloom Community Guarantee does not create a standard of care, supervisory duty, fiduciary duty, insurer obligation, claims-handling obligation, or any assumption of responsibility by Bloom for user conduct, pet care outcomes, or private arrangements.

Potential Scope

  • Bloom may define eligibility rules, document requirements, caps, exclusions, timing rules, definitions, and categories of incidents
  • Bloom may change, suspend, or discontinue the program at any time, subject to applicable law
  • Any posted cap, example, reimbursement category, FAQ, or support explanation is informational only and does not guarantee payment

Common Exclusions

  • Pre-existing, chronic, hereditary, congenital, degenerative, or breed-specific conditions
  • Routine, preventive, elective, cosmetic, or non-emergency care
  • Illness rather than accidental injury
  • Stress, anxiety, self-inflicted injury, parasite-related issues, or other preventable conditions
  • Intentional harm, neglect, fraud, criminal conduct, or Terms violations
  • Property damage, travel costs, loss of income, emotional distress, or third-party bodily injury
  • Off-platform, undocumented, unauthorized, or improperly logged arrangements
  • Claims involving free-trial users, inactive subscribers, missing emergency reporting, late reporting, or insufficient documentation
  • Visitors, roommates, helpers, household members, and unbooked or visiting pets
  • Claims already payable by insurance or other reimbursement sources

Users remain responsible for maintaining any insurance or other protections they consider appropriate. The Bloom Community Guarantee does not replace insurance and should never be treated as guaranteed compensation.

Any separate Bloom Community Guarantee page, FAQ, request form, help article, support communication, or program material is subject to these Terms.

All eligibility rules, reporting requirements, notice deadlines, platform-logging requirements, documentation requirements, caps, exclusions, definitions, conditions, and discretionary review rules published by Bloom for the Bloom Community Guarantee are incorporated into and form part of these Terms.

If there is any inconsistency, this section and any more specific written program terms published by Bloom for the Bloom Community Guarantee will govern to the extent permitted by law.

Questions about the program may be directed to bloomguarantee@bloompetshare.ca .

15. User Conduct & Animal Welfare

Users must treat animals lawfully and humanely. Animal abuse, neglect, endangerment, unsafe restraint, reckless treatment, abandonment, or failure to seek emergency care where reasonably necessary may result in immediate suspension or termination and may be reported to appropriate authorities.

Users must comply with applicable animal welfare laws, municipal by-laws, and any applicable provisions of the Criminal Code of Canada.

16. Privacy and Data Protection

Bloom handles personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable privacy law.

Bloom may collect, use, store, review, and disclose information reasonably necessary to operate the Platform, process subscriptions, facilitate verification, support trust and safety workflows, investigate reports, assess Community Guarantee requests, prevent fraud, enforce these Terms, and comply with legal obligations.

This may include identity verification results, address verification materials, support submissions, incident reports, emergency-report logs, messages, account metadata, approximate location or map-related information where relevant features are enabled, and pet-related information supplied by users.

Where the Platform uses service providers for processing, storage, payments, verification, communications, or related functions, Bloom may transfer information to those providers subject to appropriate safeguards and applicable law.

17. Disputes Between Users

Bloom may review reports of misconduct and may take account-level action for safety, fraud prevention, compliance, or platform integrity reasons. However, Bloom does not supervise, control, or assume responsibility for user interactions and is not obligated to mediate, resolve, investigate to any particular standard, or enforce outcomes of disputes between users.

Users are solely responsible for resolving disputes directly with each other, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Bloom may restrict, suspend, or remove access to the Platform regardless of whether a dispute has been resolved.

Bloom may contact one or more users, request documents or statements, preserve relevant account or incident data, decline to share investigative details or outcomes, and take precautionary moderation action where Bloom considers it reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance, or Platform integrity.

18. Suspension and Termination

Bloom may suspend, restrict, deactivate, or terminate an account at any time if reasonably necessary to protect users, animals, the Platform, or Bloom's legal or business interests, including where there are suspected Terms violations, fraud concerns, safety concerns, abusive conduct, false information, subscription abuse, verification abuse, or legal compliance issues.

You may request closure or deletion of your account using available account tools or by contacting support@bloompetshare.ca .

Upon suspension or termination, your right to use the Platform ends immediately unless otherwise stated by Bloom. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive will survive, including provisions relating to payment obligations, liability limitations, indemnity, dispute provisions, privacy-related retention as permitted by law, and the Bloom Community Guarantee.

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable in British Columbia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to applicable law, the courts of British Columbia shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform.

Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable rights or remedies available to a consumer under the law of the consumer's province or territory of residence where those rights must be preserved by law.

20. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When changes are material, we may provide additional notice through the Platform or by email. The updated Terms will state the latest revision date. If applicable law requires a particular form of notice or consent, Bloom will follow the law to that extent.
