Real pet companionship starts with real trust. Before anyone can message on Bloom, they've verified who they are, a government ID, a confirmed address, a real profile and are paid members. You see who you're talking to, always. The companionship request you make is yours, and we give you every tool to make it with confidence.

Trust tools Verification is required. Character is still yours to assess.
Every member verified their identity before they could message you. That's the foundation. It includes a government ID, proof of address, a real name and photo. Verification doesn't guarantee personality, and we're honest about that. But it means every person in this community is accountable by name, not hiding behind a screen.
Your judgement matters You stay in control, from the first hello to the last walk.
- Pet owners decide who they are comfortable meeting with and whether to proceed with an arrangement.
- Borrowers decide which pets, owners, and arrangements are suitable for them.
- Bloom provides the platform and related tools, but does not supervise, manage, or participate in private in-person arrangements.
What Bloom doesn’t control We give you tools. You use your judgement. Both matter.
Once users choose to meet, communicate privately, or proceed with an in-person arrangement, they remain responsible for their own decisions, safety precautions, communications, and conduct. Bloom cannot control private behaviour or guarantee outcomes in real-world interactions.
That is why we strongly recommend:
- Owners share accurate health, behavioural, and care information before any arrangement
- Borrowers ask questions, follow instructions, and do not proceed if they are unsure
- Everyone confirms expectations, timing, boundaries, and emergency contacts in advance
Bloom’s role
Bloom provides tools intended to support informed decisions, including verification workflows, profile information, messaging, and reporting channels. These tools are there to support trust and transparency, not to guarantee safety or assume responsibility for private arrangements.
Verification on Bloom
We may ask some users to verify their ID and proof of address. Government ID checks may be completed using Stripe Identity as our verification provider. It helps build trust, but good judgment still matters.

We will also ask for proof of address, we have a rigid process, so be patient.

Community Guidelines
These principles help keep Bloom respectful, transparent, and more dependable for everyone using it.
Treat pets with care and respect
Pets should be handled thoughtfully and responsibly. Follow agreed instructions and prioritize their welfare at all times.
Communicate clearly
Discuss expectations, routines, health information, boundaries, and concerns before meeting or confirming plans.
Be honest in profiles and conversations
Accurate profiles, truthful disclosures, and respectful communication are essential to building trust in the Bloom community.
No abuse, harassment, fraud, or unsafe conduct
Animal abuse, threats, harassment, fraud, or dangerous conduct may lead to account restriction, suspension, termination, and reporting where appropriate.
Before you meet
For Pet Owners
- Meet in a public place first when appropriate
- Share clear care instructions and emergency contacts
- Disclose behavioural, medical, and safety considerations
- Review profile details and verification status carefully
- Do not proceed if anything feels unclear or off
For Borrowers
- Ask about the pet’s temperament, routines, and limits
- Follow owner instructions carefully
- Confirm expectations before taking a pet out or meeting up
- Communicate promptly if there is any issue, delay, or concern
- Only accept a borrow when you feel confident about the pet's needs and temperament
Bloom Community Guarantee
For eligible arrangements between paid members, the Bloom Community Guarantee provides a safety net if something goes wrong. It's not insurance, but it's our commitment that when pet companionship happens the Bloom way, we have your back.
Eligible paid members may qualify during certain qualifying arrangements, subject to separate terms, exclusions, documentation requirements, and review criteria.
What this means
- It may offer limited goodwill reimbursement for certain qualifying accidental pet injury situations
- Any published reimbursement cap, including up to CAD $1,500 per incident where stated, is always subject to the applicable program terms
- It is a discretionary support program and not insurance

If you encounter suspected abuse, fraud, harassment, unsafe conduct, or another serious concern, contact us as soon as possible. We review reports and may take account-level action where appropriate.
